The morning routine that every woman needs in her life to keep her skin glowy, healthy, and awesome.
If I had to pick a non-negotiable part of being a woman, then it’d be a morning skincare routine.
Years ago, this might not be true, but our skin is vulnerable to a lot of issues in this modern age.
The culprits? Junk and processed food, pollution, and makeup products that mean no harm but somehow cause harm anyway.
To thrive and shine, your skin needs extra love and attention, and morning skincare is how you do that.
And I love how awesome I feel in my body after I’m done with my skincare routine. It makes me feel like a queen, and that’s a killer energy to be in every morning.
In this post, I am sharing my morning skincare routine that is not excessive at all but has just enough steps to supplement your skin with healthy goodness.
I will also be sharing the products that I feel are best for different skin types, but you are free to use things that work best for you.

Morning Skincare Routine For Women
1. Cleansing
The foundation of any skincare routine is cleansing, always.
Your skin produces oil overnight, and may have residues from your nightly skincare, so you need to clean it up and make it a clean slate before you start pampering it with good things.
In the morning, your skin doesn’t need a harsh or deep cleanse since you’re just washing off overnight oil, sweat, and skincare residue.
You want something gentle, hydrating, and refreshing to maintain your skin’s natural moisture barrier.
Very quickly, here are the products recommendations (which you are free to skip past if you already have a good cleanser):

Don’t use hot or even warm water on face. Cold water is the best for your skin, no matter what season.
And also, cleanse your face for a full 60 seconds! That’s how long the cleanser needs to work its magic, so no hurry worry.
2. Ice Rolling
Oh my, I am so in love with ice rolling it’s kind of ridiculous.
Every time I pick up my ice roller, I get an instant ‘main character’ vibe, and my brain also gets the memo that it’s time to be up and alert.
Ice rolling depuffs your skin and wakes it up (yes, even more than cleansing). The cold temperature shrinks your pores temporarily, making them look smaller and smoother.
It also calms inflammation and boosts circulation, so your skin will absorb the serums and moisturizers better.
So, you can think of ice roller as a skin prep before doing your skincare.
Now, how to do it?
Store your ice roller in the freezer overnight or for at least a few hours before using it.
If you don’t have an ice roller, you can use a chilled spoon or an ice cube wrapped in a soft cloth (never use an ice cube directly).
Start at the center of your face and roll outward towards your ears. Use gentle pressure; no need to press hard.
Roll upwards on your cheeks, forehead, and jawline for a lifting effect. For under-eye puffiness, use light rolling motions from the inner corner outward to de-puff.
Roll over your jawline and temples to relieve tension. It feels so good!
If you wake up with a puffy face (which I always do, ugh), spend extra time on those areas that need depuffing.
3. Spot Treatment/Serum
Serums and spot treatments go right after cleansing and ice rolling because they need to sink into your skin first to work their magic.
If your skin is free from any issues, then you don’t really need this step. But I do understand the need to make your skin healthier and glowier, which is what serums are for.
- To brighten your skin, you can go for Vitamin C serum
- For dehydrated skin, pick Hyluronic acid serum
Again, this step is skippable if you have no skin issues. Less is more when it comes to good skincare.
Now, if you have issues like pigmentation, scars, acne, or open pores, you should pick a spot treatment that will target your specific issue.
I have acne-prone skin, so usually I am either treating acne or acne scars (it’s a cycle that repeats, lol).
My morning skincare involves using clyndamycin gel when I have active acne. I treat acne scars at night only.
I have also had great results from using Niacinamide serum in the past, so that’s also another option for you.

4. Moisturizing
I used to hate moisturizing my face because I thought it made my skin oily.
But the problem was a) I did not have a good skincare routine at all, and b) My moisturizer sucked.
Every skin type needs a moisturizer, even an oily skin. Without moisturizer, your skin produces even more oil to compensate, leading to clogged pores and breakouts.
Also, the right moisturizer can make your skin absolutely beautiful.
You want something that locks in hydration but also works with your skin type and absorbs well under makeup/SPF.
Here are some fire recommendations based on your skin’s needs:
For Oily/Combo & Acne-Prone Skin
For Normal/Dry Skin
- CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion
- Moiz LMF 48 Lotion (The one I use currently)
Don’t use too much or too less moisturizer. It should be enough to hydrate every part of your face without being extra.
Massage gently in upward strokes for a few seconds until it is well absorbed.
5. Sunscreen
Okay, we are down to the very last and very important step of this morning skincare routine.
SPF, ladies! Even if you’re not going out in the sun, you need it, and you know it.
The sun can damage your skin in so many ways, and also react badly with the other skincare products you wear so lovingly.
Sunscreen is your ultimate protection against the harmful UV rays, and it also creates an additional layer between your skin and makeup.

Don’t try to skimp on your sunscreen. You need to use enough amount to create a healthy barrier over every inch of your face.

To summerize, here are the steps:
- Cleansing
- Ice rolling
- Spot treatments/serums
- Moisturizing
- Sunscreen
As you can see, this morning skincare routine is not very extensive.
You should save multi-step skincare for nighttime as your skin needs it after being exposed to dirt and sun throughout the day, and while you sleep the products can work on healing and repairing.
But for morning, this routine is sufficient.
You can do your makeup on top, if you wear any, or just go fresh and bare-faced.
